SupetART 2024 – a year in review

This year, we proudly continued SupetART, the artist-in-residence program at Hotel Supetar Cavtat, where our boutique hotel’s communal spaces are transformed into immersive pop-up galleries. In collaboration with SHPIGL, a distinguished Croatian art consultancy, we welcomed six talented artists from Dubrovnik who each brought their unique artistic vision, allowing guests to engage with the art and culture of the region in dynamic, memorable ways.
FEATURED ARTISTS…

Romana Milutin Fabris

A celebrated painter and tapestry artist whose career spans decades, Romana’s works are displayed internationally in museums, galleries, and private collections. Her refined style brings elegance and depth, resonating with viewers on both a visual and emotional level.
Under the title “Homage to Dubrovnik”, Romana Milutin Fabris exhibits works of art inspired by her hometown – Dubrovnik, its streets and landscape, as well as Mediterranean motifs.

Miho Skvrce

Known for his contemplative Polaroid photography series, “On the Edges of Reality,” Miho’s work explores abstract reflections and fogged landscapes. His pieces invite introspection, depicting a blurred yet profound narrative that bridges the natural world with a sense of mystical tranquility.

Dubravka Tullio

As an artist and museum pedagogue, Dubravka’s work captures the natural beauty of her surroundings. With a focus on botany, illustration, and photography, her pieces combine artistic and educational elements, providing guests with both beauty and insight into Croatian flora and fauna.

Jasmina Runje

Jasmina is a painter and museum educator whose work spans public murals, illustrations, and scenography. Her pieces, found in both national and international collections, reflect a commitment to community art and a vibrant connection to her Croatian heritage.

Iris Lobaš Kukavičić

A professor and artist specializing in painting, sculpture, and multimedia, Iris’s work includes public sculptures in cities like Zagreb and Copenhagen. Her diverse artistic practice reflects an interest in both sacred art and modern forms, blending tradition with contemporary aesthetics.

Tonko Smokvina

As the director of the Museum of Modern Art Dubrovnik, Tonko brings a deep connection to the local art community. His own paintings and curated exhibitions are widely recognized, making him a respected figure in Dubrovnik’s cultural scene.

Until next year…

SupetART fosters a rich exchange between artists and guests, transforming Hotel Supetar into a space where art, culture, and conversation naturally converge. With each artist bringing fresh perspectives, these exhibitions allow guests to experience Croatian art in an intimate setting, deepening their connection to the region’s cultural landscape. We extend our deepest thanks to all the artists, partners, and guests who have made SupetART such a memorable experience.
