In Rugby Club Dubrovnik, we have recognized a valuable partner towards a brighter tomorrow for our youngest generation, thanks to the inclusion of both girls and boys in the club’s teams and training, reaching out to schools and teaching the basics and importance of inclusion and fair play.
Rugby is a game with a great tradition of sports culture, mutual respect for one’s own and rival players, and as such is recognized worldwide as an irreplaceable part of the development of a child’s anthropological characteristics and cognitive abilities and traits. The environment present in rugby gives the child a sense of belonging and actualization and respect for teammates.
Together with Rugby Club Dubrovnik, we have formed the ALH Touch Rugby School League, inspiring young boys and girls to start a brand new tradition in sports competitions – an inclusive league of future rugby players.
About Rugby Club Dubrovnik
Rugby club Dubrovnik was founded in 2016 by Ante Stojan, a former rugby national team player, with the aim of integrating and popularizing rugby as a sport in the far south of Croatia. The club soon met the interest and support of the local community, and today it operates in several age groups: rugby kindergarten (5-8 years old), U10, U12, U14, U16 and seniors. With the vision of “rugby for everyone, consistent with its values” and the mission of “always achieving more, developing and promoting rugby”, the Dubrovnik Rugby Club is proud of the community in which girls and boys train mixed.
Dubrovnik Rugby Club is the youngest member of the Croatian Rugby Union family, and conducts its activities in accordance with the fundamental principles of rugby: honesty, commitment, harmony, discipline and respect. The club participates in several regional and national competitions, and among its activities, the organization of a traditional summer rugby camp for children and the organization of a humanitarian match between the Croatian rugby national team and the team of the British University of Oxford stand out.
